They're competing with the Nexus tablet and Kindle Fire at best. All a very low priced Win8 tablet will do is drive any OEMs that currently support Windows 8 tablets out of business, since MS charge then $85 per OS sale but themselves nothing. If they then also sell this at a hardware loss there is no way for OEMs to compete. |
At underlined.
WP8, Win 8 is reported to be the same arcitecture. Also there is no Win 8 and Win 8 metro are the same thing. Its not like you can get Win 8 without metro. Win 8 is win 8 and the marketplace is the same across all devices. For example, Win 8 RT and Win 8 pro have the same marketplace and same apps. Win 8 pro can also run software not just apps. Pro means you get te desktop side as well. But the metro side is exactly the same. Also Office has been rewritten as an app for Win 8 and comes wit RT.
Ive been using and am typing this on Win 8 right now. I have whats considered the pro verswion as I have the desktop side as well. Guess what. Ive barely used the desktop side. Thats why this is the last desktop I'll ever buy.
1 app written will run on all devices and even WP8 with almost no changes.
