Did you read the last AvX?  Scott has pretty much gone off the deep end too.

As for Jean, she's pretty much dead (though I wouldn't rule her coming back minutes before Cyclops goes completely crazy and kills him for love or something stupid like that).

This might be because this is the first time in a looooong time I've read an ongoing event like this (that last one would have been Maximum Carnage...so yeah, a while ago) but it's been striking me as weird that there are so many things out or order.  The AvX comic itself has been consistent but then you have Avengers, X-Men, Avengers Acedamy, Wolver and the X-Men each having their own AvX story that's completely out of sync.  I mean they still have comics this week where Namor is kicking peoples asses but he got taken out over a month ago.

-edit-

Also, for anyone reading digital, is this AvX Infinite crap pissing anyone else off?  I fell for it twice (whoops) where I bought the AvX comic and then the Infinite comic where the AvX comic just includes the Infinite comic yet they don't mention that in either description.  It's beyond stupid.

Scott is over the deepend, but it's more of a "I have to save the world" kinda crazy.  Emma is just insane.  Like I think Scott can eventually be reasoned with.  And Jean is alive, she was resurrected in Pheonix:Endson by the pheonix.  Emma made a telepathic link with Jean and the rest of the X-men so that she can feel their love to regain herself.  She took control of the phoenix and went into the White Hot Room to regenerate the pheonix.  Jean has made a few telepathic links in various stories too.  Well atleast in the story that brought Psylocke back to the X-men anyways.  It's just that these events are being completely ignored, as if it never happened.  It's weird too, looking at previews for September, they're bringing Jean back.  Thing is this Jean is coming back with the original 5 X-men from the past, so it's a time travel excuse.

Ah, didn't realize, thought I read some Wiki somewhere that she was just plain dead.  I *love* The Phoenix (Jean Grey Phoenix at least) and I tried to read Endsong and the other specials but I just hate Greg Land so much.  I can't finish any comic he does the art for because he is just so terrible.

I stopped buying whichever X-Men comic he was doing (Uncanny I think?) there for a while because, again, it's amazing how bad of a job he does.
