1. This game is a PS3 exclusive, not a Vita game. 2. PS3 game 3. I don't understand what you mean by "traditional new games". You want something new that feels old? You want new iterations in old franchises or what? Yet I see you complain all the time about Vita getting too many supposed "console games/ports" (since you seem to think it's a Vita game, I'll go with that) that are, more often than not, new iterations in old franchises. |
The fact that I thought it was a Vita game makes it that much more embarrassing. Maybe it would be better served on that handheld. When I saw gamescom I knew it was PS3, but it was forgettable.
When I mean traditional new games, I mean games that do not look as wonky as this. Nintendo pulled the same stunt with Flingsmash and look where that went...
Vita IS getting too many console-ish games. What sells a portable are games destined and created for the sole purpose of portable use, not something pidgeonholed onto the hardware for the sake of it.
I personally am trying to find the difference in how Sony does things and how Nintendo does things, but I cannot describe the difference. There IS A difference but I cannot put it into words. All of Nintendo's franchises have appeared in handheld and console form, some fail vice versa, but many succeed.
Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Wario - they all found an avenue on handhelds yet took nothing away from the console games. Outside of God of War and maybe Uncharted I don't see that working the same way for Sony.
Tear Away appears to be an excellent Vita game. The aesthetic is still corny in my eyes, but the innovative use of Vita controls allows it to be 'just good enough' to ignore. Basically, the art serves to get the job done and let the use of control be VERY clear and most of all, fun.
But Puppeteer? Nah, not feelin it.
