Why do people still use Nielsen Rating system when its incredibly inaccurate?

At least this would give a more accurate display of who's interested in a series, and whether it should progress.

I understand why you feel this way, but reality shows are far from dying off. They are very cheap to produce and they make a lot of money. TLC and Bravo have become big cable networks because of their reality shows.

Then those shows will have no worry about being axed, provided they get the number of hits in a demand-based system.
