False. Normative statements like "it's barbaric" "needs to be addressed" have no place in science. They are ethical statements and can be either supported or weakened by science, but it's not fact and no scientist would claim so. Science is also not black and white like you claim it to be. In fact, very little in your OP is has purely something to do with science. Get off your high horse, you are not half as intelligent as you think you are.
