In both modern anti-Sony articles and old anti-Nintendo articles the essential argument is that current trends will continue (and in most cases accelerate), the company (Nintendo/Sony) can not adapt, and it is impossible that the threatening company (Sony for Nintendo, and Apple for Sony) will screw up.
