Resist getting a smartphone for as long as possible, just like i did with getting a cellphone with an actual plan (no non-emergency cell until mid 2008)

Stick with Nintendo consoles, and a Windows laptop. Likely i won't be able to afford a new laptop for five years anyway, so i'll have to hope this Acer holds out.
