I dont get it.
Killzone 3, Uncharted 2, GOW3 all games Ive finished now.
Crysis 2, Rage, and Geow3 are all easily in the same ballpark.
My PS3 isnt on some other level. Even the exclusives.

its just my opinion.
i used to game on only xbox, and i though Gears 2 was the best looking until crysis 2, but then i got a ps3 and those games blew me away.
any way i feel Crysis 2 is by far the best looking game out of the 3 you listed, Rage really isnt that good looking if you pay attention. it doesnt belong on that list Gears 3 and Crysis 2 look vastly better. Rage only looks good if you are just glancing at the screen not paying much attention. theres so much pop in with Rage, every thing is static, low rez stuff all the time, baked in lighting and really it looks like everything is baked in.
but like i said it my opinion, if i were to make a list it would look something like this
Uncharted 3 > Killzone 3, Uncharted 2 > God of War 3 > Crysis 2 > Killzone 2 = Gears 3.
rage just didnt impress me.

I think some media and alot of people used graphics to give PS3 a + point early on and it stuck.
Killzone 3 for me which I still play a bit online every now and then is disappointing visually compared to other games like Uncharted, Geow 3 and Crysis 2. So many times there is really low poly scenery in cutscenes and in general not that impressive. I actually prefered Killzone 2 overall in singleplayer from all aspects.
After playing Killzone 3, Im currently playing through Crysis 2 on Supersoldier and definately think Crysis 2 is visually better.
Uncharted 3 I havent played yet. But Uncarted 2 looked great, but not on some other level that people claim. Animation wise to. Animations are great, but clip way to much into sceneary. So many times while climbing up from hanging Nates knees and feet are suspended in mid air or are not flush to the scenery hes on. Geow 3 for example to me has better textures.
Basically playing Geow 3 again after Killzone 3 and Uncharted 2 made me realise all the talk is a load of unnecessary hot air.
On topic. The Crysis 3 video in the OP kicks 10 bails of crap visually out of any PS3 and 360 game currently by a long way.
Rage, is impressive to me because it runs at twice the framerate wic to me helps the visuals as much as the gameplay.

thats fine i have my opinion, you have yours. but it sounds like you may be just a little biased, and i think most tech analysists would disagree with you.

I agree opinion is opinion.
Ive read all the tech articles, many of which seem to focus on certain things without taking the whole picture into considertaion.
For example: When Uncharted 2 looks its best, I didnt have full control of the camera or my character. The same in GOW3. Killzone doesnt do this. Is that why it doesnt look as good Uncharted?
Games like Killzone 3, Crysis 2, Rage, Geow3 even Battlefield 3 95% of the time give the player 100% control.
When I ave 100% control in Uncharted 2 or GOW3, it doesnt look as good as when it is taking control away from me. I would be far more impressed if I was controlling the character and camera in the train derail of Uncharted 2 for example than just watching it. Or like Crysis 2 when the helicopter crashes into the building I have full control, as opposed to control taken away from me in Uncharted 2 when the building starts to collapse with me in it.
It seems more fair to compare that to cutscenes of Geow3 for example. Because there is a noticeable difference in graphics quality when player control is taken away.
Its clever on the developers part, but isnt comparable to full control. Because when a dev selects what you see and control it frees up resources to do more visually.
Thats not to say Uncharted 2 or GOW3 arent impressive, I'm saying from playing all of them this is what stands out straight away.
I enjoyed Uncharted 1 more than Uncharted 2 because it was a full on game. It didnt keep taking my control away. Also the whole bit with following the wierd indian bloke into te ice cavern and fighting those badly designed creatures could have been left out. That was boring and not needed. The rest of the game was good though.
