Vita is not doomed, the problem is that Sony doesn't even have a clue of what market they are trying to attract. They spent $50 millions with "Never Stop Playing" market (which was, clearly, a mistake) just to make people say: "hey, if I have a PS3, why do I even need a PSV? just to play my PS3 games on the go? nah... not gonna spend a lot of money just to do it". Seriously, "Never Stop Playing" is probably one of the worst marketing ideas ever.
They need more exclusive games for vita (Patapon? Loco Roco? Exclusive God of War/GTA?), I don't think COD is going to save Vita.
I think Vita will do well on the long run.
