I'll be honest, not 100% sure, as far as I'm aware they have been upfront about the whole thing from the start. But if I'm wrong, I'll happily accept that. But all I know is they are happy to say SB inspired and they had nothing to do with the youtube tags.

They were. From the very very begining. They have said they were inspired by smash and fans have been asking for a game like this for a long time. They also said a lot of the devs themselves are fans of smash. Like I said above, the game, outside of the visuals, are heavily influenced by a number of games, including, mk, sf and dissidia for certain. Most of these devs are fighting game vets. 

They haven't been denying anything. They just want people to play the game with an open mind...cuz it's a different ball game during play. And they are right on the money. This game absolutely punishes defensive play and promotes offensive play style in a real big way. Strategies are also very different etc etc. Trying to differentiate while admitting to the influeces is THE right thing to do and that's exactly what omar, ed ma and the rest of them have been doing. 

 

this youtube tags bit...is really stupid. I'm sorry but this is getting way too much attention. For all we know some media guy who was in charge putting up the vide on the playstation site messed up....could be a friggin intern for all we know. Here's a another good reason why this is likely, the latest leak had two more tekken characters in it and made it look like they are playable. After letting us idiots duke it out about that inclusion lol clockw0rk came out and said nope only one tekken guy in the game. It just shows superbot is NOT in charge of all these promotional stuff and those that are, are not that good. SuperBot should not get a bad rep for this at all. 

From the get go they have been pretty up front about the whole thing. THis whole le rip off stuff is fucking dumb really. People should focus on the game, and the quality it brings. I'm telling you dude, the online is dreamy, even as a beta. Almost no load times and no lag whatsoever. And we only know like half the roster, way less than half the stages and nothing on the soundtrack, other modes or anything. I sincerely hope all these ripoff discussions stay within this thread and not go into every ps all stars threads, that are will be made, in the near future.
