A gpu like that costs $500 this year and it'll still cost $500 next year, so if you honestly want hardware like that in your next console get ready to pay some gwap.

"Oh noes they better not release a console for over $400 I'd be PISSED."

I am willing to pay for a console that shows a leap over this generation. All I can hope for either MS or Sony is willing to put that option out their.

What your asking for will never happen. So since your willing to spend so much might as well get a gaming PC.

Exactly. Took me a while to realize it, but if you're going to blow a significant amount of cash, in this day and age a gaming PC is a great investment!

The only problem is 70% of the games I like to play are 1st party games. Sure, the PC is nice to have to push the limits here and there, but I don't want the majority of my gaming sacrificed. This gen was great, both the PS3 and the 360 were pushing the limits, and have been a joy to own.

I am not asking that all three consoles push the limit, but I would like to see at least one player shoot for a platinum experiance. Like I'e said before, if we end up with three colnes, whats the point in competition. All that achives is a waste of resouces for third parties to develope the exact same experince multiple times.

Waste of resources? More like it makes it easier for third parties to develop for all platforms and make development times a bit shorter.

Maybe with less time  tweaking graphics they'll get more time to put  towards gameplay mechanics, but graphics are obviously what you really care about anyways, that doesn't matter.

There are many, many ways they can differentiate themselves and compete. The only option isn't to make an expensive console, that runs hot and sounds like a jet engine. The gaming industry isn't a competition on best graphics.
