I'm not sure that's strictly true.  I believe it was a mis-translation where they said they're getting closer to profitability, but still selling at a loss for the time being.

That was April 26th.  If there's any update since then that I've missed, then feel free to let me know.  But the middle of this fiscal year would be September, so if they haven't reached it yet it's not a huge surprise.

Yep, we have an update about this, they said in the last quarter report that, from July 25 (or 26?) the 3DS was being sold above the manufacturing costs :), I am going out right now, but I am sure you can look it up yourserf, or someone can give you a link :)
