Twisted Metal has been bigger in the past than it is at the moment, and Sweet Tooth (at least his Ice Cream van) has always been at the centre of promoting it.

Plus, it's one of only a few Sony franchises that has been on PS1, 2, 3 & PSP. 

So a vita version is a no brainer


Unfortunately, I'd say not.  This PS3 version has been pretty crippling to the series, and David Jaffe has said he has no plans for any new Twisted Metal any time soon.  Plus, car combat just doesn't seem as big as it used to be.

Saddly your right the PS3 game didn't sale well (dead in Europe), but I'm sure a smaller team probably SCEE would pick the seires up. At least make a vita version to stick with the tradision .

They dig it themselfs, I was really anticipating Twisted Metal, wich turned out to be pretty much a mess, I could not play with my friends online, just did not work. I cant recommend people a game that does not work...

I dunno, JAFFE really has to bring something special next time.. I really dig how he handles the community with updates, but TM was not enjoyable, and while the storys were totally freaking cool, the singleplayer lacked a lot. yeah well, maybe I expected too much

 

Anywaaay. PSABR is building up so nice... with rumored tomba and nariko... I CAN NOT WAIT!

The biggest problem with the new Twisted Metal is they focused mainly on the vehicles, unlike the previous Twisted Metal games where they focused on the people who drove the vehicles.  So instead of having several unique characters that have their own story and motivations, you had 3 playable characters that could drive all of the different vehicles.

Can't wait for this game to come out.  Looks like the roster is going to be pretty big.  Hope they figure out a way to get Crash, Spyro, and (definitely) Cloud.  Would love to Omnislash the shit out of my opponents.  Sephiroth would be a nice add, too.
