I think of it like cameras. Smartphones are undoubtedly the most used cameras there are, but no one, even the smartphone users themselves, would ever compare their little 8 megapixel autofocus piece of crap to an actual DSLR camera, or any legitimate photography equipment. The same can be said of gaming. iOS will become the best selling game platform, but we will (probably) always be able to brag that we have 'real' games on our systems. As far as the future goes, I still severely doubt that any smartphone or tablet will be legitimate competition for dedicated gaming platforms because the average iPhone/iPad user really isn't interested in games like Cod, Halo, Zelda, Final Fantasy, etc.

What is a "Real game".

Please enlighten us.

Hardcore games. The Zeldas, Metroids, Halo's, Metal Gears, Final Fantasy, Gears of War, Grand Theft Auto, etc.

Oh boy...

So I guess GTA 3, Chinatown Wars, NOVA, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, Mass Effect, Order and Chaos and a multitude of 2d & 3d Zelda styles games on iOS don't count because...?

Exactly. People that don't have iPads seem to think its all angry birds. It's far more than that now and growing all the time.

I have an ipod touch. Chinatown wars originated on the DS, GTA 3's controls were terrible on touch screen, and it ran terribly. Final Fantasy games are either ports or were the CHaos games or whatever from Square that I didn't play. Nova was terrible imo. I wasn't aware there was a Metal Gear game, havent played mass effect, haven't heard of order and chaos. I don't deny that there are good games on iOS, but they generally aren't as deep or as fun to me as dedicated gaming handhelds, and many gamers do agree with me.
