That may be but if they keep releasing disappointing titles, sooner or later even the hardcore fans will stop buying them.
I was personally disappointed by FFXIII but not to the point where I don't want to play Final Fantasy anymore but if somehow FFXV sucks, I might consider passing on Final Fantasy games from that point on.
