The same thing happened in Vancouver in 2010. Canada got 14 gold medals which was our best performance ever.

If I remember correctly, they'd never got a gold medal in a winer games before, no? It just goes to show how much the home advantage helps.

Canada had plenty of gold medals before Vancouver 2010 but never that many. In fact, 14 golds is the record for most Gold medals by a country in the Winter Olympics.
