not only a UK thing ..

when I have a cold for instance my sense of taste is drastically lowered aswell - smell has a big influence on taste (atleast for me)

I do Sudokus, that's probably not thaaat "weird".

Not for me. When I hold my nose and eat, everything tastes the same.

Perhaps its cold itself that blocks taste, not the lack of smell?
