I don't see how it's any different from someone saying, "Want to go to the pub?", or "man, I could use a beer... or 3."

It doesn't matter what the vice is, people love whichever ones treat them best. And people love to talk about what they love [to do]. I suppose since you're no longer using marijuana, talking about it can't be at all appealing. If someone's passionate about a type of food, beverage, or anything else, talking about it with people that share the interest helps to make a connection that would otherwise not exist. So if you're not into what someone else is talking about (whether it's weed or ice cream), then there's no appeal and no connection to the topic.

It really doesn't matter, for me, what people talk about passionately. I tend to hang around people my age or older (more than 30), so the discussions tend to be more mature and wise than what you would experience playing CoD online. My advice is to surround yourself with more mature people if you don't want to be annoyed by topics you're not interested in. Because there are some incredibly intelligent people that have gone on at great lengths about cannabis and its history that have taught me a lot. It's no longer kids bragging about getting high, and instead becomes a way to connect in a complete other way. Food for thought.
