how do you not know what first party devs are? they are owned by the console manufacturer. second party means it is not owned but are published by the console manufacturer.

mario ip is owned by nintendo therefore all games are first party, but might be produced by second parties. halo is a first party game.

Explain Mario and Sonic at the Olympics.

First Party Nintendo, or First Party Sega. Cant be both, and explain your answer, in context to your previous posts.

Mario & Sonic is obviously a special case. Not many games get "joint" development between two major studios.

I consider this a 1st-party Nintendo title - as they are (partially) developing it, AND publishing it. No such thing as a 1st-party Sega title anymore. Sega is joint developing & joint publishing.

All "Mario" games are either 1st or 2nd party titles. 1st if Nintendo internally develop it, 2nd if they pay another company to develop it.

...

Is Metroid a 1st-party or 2nd-party title? Retro is owned(?) by Nintendo, but are they considered internal?
