Certification is a massive pain in the ass, but games are better for it.

All the proof you need is to look at the quality of a multiplatform game that's on PC and PS3/360/Wii. Because of certification, your game must do certain things like not crash all the time, not destroy your machine, must unlock things correctly, etc. That means console games go through an extra external round of testing before they can be put on the console, PC's have no such requirements.

That means PC versions of games are always the last to get tested and have the lowest quality bar. The majority of the big issues do get taken care of during certification for the console SKU, but not all of them. It adds more work but it makes you play better games.

I love Braid and all, but this guy just wants attention.
