I don't believe many have protested what you're saying. From my perspective, people were never saying mobile devices won't receive software similar to home consoles. Rather, they believed that mobile devices won't overtake push home consoles into out of relevancy; at least not soon.

I don't see why developers wouldn't port their games to a platform with such an install base if the platform is powerful enough to handle it. The question is will mobile devices become the most significant platform for games that were traditionally console-centric.

Hey Jay.

The most common attack on my two threads (or other times I've made same comments regarding mobile) have been controls followed by things like battery life or the fact that high-end console games don't currently exist there and that somehow means they never will.

This thread is to show the biggest complaint, controls, is gone. In fact I think it was already on its way out. This thread proves without a doubt that Apple and Google (via OEMs and software makers) fully intend to enter the primary video game market with absolute controls along with their existing virtual controls.

The markets are diverging. Mobile is becoming a much a gaming console as dedicated consoles and dedicated console makers are moving to pure mobile OS style products.

This next generation will prove they are now one in the same type of devices. This will happen in 2013, if not show direct proof before 2012 ends.
