I don't think these massive games belong on the handheld systems. Like Sales2099 said, most people will be playing those bigger titles on their console or PC. That's not to say that handhelds shouldn't have huge exciting games, just not ones that are better suited for a console or PC experience. The Vita would greatly benefit from titles like Warriors Lair and RPG's like Y's. Still huge games in their own right, but not to the scope of Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed.
I really don't understand how Sony can't get their heads around this. Did they do some kind of extensive R&D that told them this is what gamers want? Or is this just not being done, so their taking a gamble on the chance that gamers may love this and don't know it? If you ask me, they need to put a poll up on their main blog asking what kinds of experiences are you looking for on the Vita, and at what price points are you most comfortable paying for those experiences? Then run ad campaigns on TV and the internet directing all consumers to visit the site and complete the poll.
I know I personally want smaller more unique gaming experiences with a price tag between $4.99 - $19.99. Games smaller than Assassin's Creed and COD, but bigger than the IPhone games/apps. I'm really not comfortable paying $35.00 - $50.00 for my Vita games, even at the scope of Assassin's Creed/COD. And smartphones have the .99 - Free games market cornered. That and my Vita is capabale of so much more than .99 apps, so it should be utilized. I just can't see how Sony doesn't understand this.
