I can't quote you at work, sorry.

I think the Wii U controller and Kinect will have the same price tag more or less. And a regular controller is $30, so that won't make a difference.

The lack of HDD could make a difference on a system's performance, so I don't consider that an "extra". Just like additional 4 GB RAM are not an extra, more a part of the system itself.

Sorry it took me too long to answer, but I'm also at work.

I'm not sure about WiiU's controller and Kinnect costing the same. After all, WiiU's controller could be described as a regular PS3 controller with a 6" screen on it, but the new Kinnect is another thing. Not too long ago Microsoft finally launched Kinnect for PC optimized to be used in close distances, and it was launched for +200$. Overpriced? For sure, but by how much? And the Kinnect thing for the nextbox will be better, at least that's what we all suppose since everybody calls it 2.0.

I agree (just like everyone else) with RAM: it is not an extra, it is a basic feature of the console that have great impact on its performance. But I never mentioned it as being an extra.

But an HDD isn't. There are only 3 uses for it:

1) Store your savegames and other data. WiiU will have 8GB of internal storage, enough for this task.

2) Store your digital purchases, being games or DLCs. WiiU will allow the use of external HDDs, as well as SD cards. yes, consumers will have to pat tfor those things, but only if they need/want.

and

3) To use it as a pool to store temporary data. Admitedly, this is something that has only bethered PS3 owners because the Blu Ray in the PS3, it is too slow. That's why so many some devs were forced to use the HDD, something that didn't happen with the fast DVD-drive of the Xbox360 (although as of late, some devs recomend an install to improve textures and other things). If WiiU's propietary optical disc is fast enough there'll be no need for an HDD to be used that way.

Please excuse my bad English.
