IF Nintendo will launch their console with a profitable price as they always do and come up with a strongly rumored $299 - $349 price tag and MS launches one year later with a $500 price tag. how can the gap not be big?

Not that I agree or disgree with DieAppleDie about how big the gap will be, but the price difference will also be a matter of "extras".

Supposedly, the WiiU will launch without an HDD, and some even say that it will only include the Gamepad (no wiimotes or the Pro controller). If the nextbox has an HDD and comes with Kinnect 2.0, as well as a regular controller, that's a lot extras that will need to be included in the price.

But as I said, rumors are so vague that it's hard to know the power of the nextbox (there's no word about the GPU!) and therefore the gap between it and WiiU (from which we also ignore several important things).

And I don't think Microsoft will be stupid enough to sell it for more than 450 $/€.
