The real playstation all-stars are missing and almost all the characters they reveal (with a couple exceptions like Drake or Kratos) are from game series nowhere near as popular, let alone the character chosen being popular and in some cases complete duds. Like how the hell is Big Daddy a Playstation all star? He was a 360 timed exclusive star and the game sold craploads more on 360 than it did PS3.
Meanwhile where are the characters that first established themselves on playstation systems and for a time were icon playstation characters?
Lara Croft - Tomb Raider games were hits and only on plastation for a long time.
Claire Redfield - Star of Resident Evil 2, the biggest selling RE game until RE5 released, RE2 was PS1 exclusive for long time.
Leon S Kennedy - Same as Claire, they equally lead characters so either would do.
Jill Valentine - Star of Resident Evil, the Directors Cut and RE3, all PS1 exclusive hit games, her instead of Leon/Claire would do, one character from RE is enough.
Abe - Star of Oddworld series with 2 hit games exclusively on PS1.
Cloud - Final Fantasy VII, massive PS1 hit game.
Sophitia Alexandra - From Soul Blade/Edge, very popular fighting game and she was easily to most popular character from that and throughout the series.
Dante - The original Dante, from DMC1/2/3, hit excusive PS2 games. Not new Dante from a multiplat not even out yet.
Crash Bandicoot - 3 exclusive hit PS1 games and a spin-off, he was like Sonys answer to Mario and Sonic for several years.
Gabe Logan - Syphon FIlter games.
Spyro - Hit PS1 games.
Solid Snake - WTF putting Raiden in, he is hated by most people especially after MGS2 bait and switch Konami did, blatent advertising (for a multiplat...) instead of picking the real icon of the series.
Pyramid Head - Silent Hill 2 was loved when it first came out, only on PS2. This is easily the games and the series most iconic character.
All these have much greater stardom than what Sony seem to be adding into the game. If they cannot get them for the game Sony either shouldn't have made the game or should should have picked a less retarded title that would scream 'farce' the moment the roster is looked at.

A) everythign you have listed are owned by third parties. sony may very well have tried and been told no.
B) in regard to Dante -- it is a known fact that EVERY character has multiple costumes. for all we know the old dante is also included via an alterative costume.
