Complete waste and one of the reasons I call the rumor BS.

I have seen some talk of them using DDR4, which I would have thought that would be a tad lacking on the bandwidth front. Currently DDR4 is available at 4Gb, with a shrink down to 30nm next year. Do you think that it would be a viable choice? Assumiung they are using a large chunk of EDRAM for framebuffer.

You'd need 16 chips @ 4Gb to do that. I would personally say that is likely doable as they likely intend to transition to stacked memory anyway.
