I guess the fixation on graphics is understandable. All Nintendo fans long for days like those of the SNES, when the Nintendo console got the major third-party releases AND the best of Nintendo's first-party titles, and it's natural to want to be sure that the first part of that equation won't be missing like it has the last six years.
Personally, I think the current-gen comparisons will end once developers start using the next-gen resources under the hood and stop porting code intended for current-gen.

What's more important for people to focus on is the new opportunities afforded by the new controller rather than the increased power, but I guess that's harder to do since you can't see the improvement just by looking at it like you can with graphics.
