the problem with using 1gig a second DL speed as your base for calculating is thats the theoretical top speed , usualy done in ideal circumstances over a short distance 70-80% is more likely , hence my 100 MB per sec plan running off the NBN (National broadband network in Australia) gets around 70 -80 MB per sec real word speeds , the NBN also has 1GIG top speed but at the moment no isps who use the NBN inferstructure have plans for it they don't see a market , still these same isps said the majority would only take up the 12MB and 50MB speed plans but that has not been the case with the majority taking out the 100MB sec plans.
