How is the 3DS really doing compared to the DS in the U.S? 3DS/DS sales gap~

I'd say MK7 and Mario 3d land were big hitters, but 2d mario and pokemon sell like hot cakes. Zelda and Smash Bros should be great games but they never sell as much.
