Liked
-Gameplay aspects in Battle
-The overall OST of the game
-Exploration mechanics in the game (especially in Chapter 12)
-Ability to refine items to make them better.
-Similar leveling system to FFX's Sphere Grid
-Storyline was ok, nothing too spectacular or new (just dont compare it to older FF games)

Disliked
-Lack of NPC involvement (i.e. talking etc)
-Lack of towns
-Lack of Controls on other characters (you can only control one character)
-Player character dies = game over
-Dialogue was a bit lacking (Loved Sazh's lines but some were just.....xD)
-Storyline started out slow and majority of the game was fillers in between.
-Lack of ability to go back to older maps, locations and areas.

I'd say we're about equal in terms of our likes and dislikes. Strangely enough one thing I always hate in some rpgs is huge sprawling towns that are time consuming to navigate and do everything as I feel it interferes with pacing. This was one thing that about XII that bothered me so in some ways I was glad that XIII didn't have any towns. i would have preferred if they simply had more small towns that had their own themes though.
