We must have been watching different things.

He didn`t watch the video. He thinks that supporting a candidate is like cheering for a sports team, where you just choose one based on personal influences(like color of the uniform, flag, location of the team, family`s tastes, etc...) and just stay with it for the rest of your life without a second thought.
