Some report major improvements in usability but the problem being the placement and accidental activity from palms. More often than not though I saw no mention of touchpad woes. I've also seen it reported that the hinge was strengthened so I'm not sure what to believe on that. Having said that, there are some great alternatives even in the Windows realm with Samsung stepping up their laptop game this year (in the ultrabook and gaming laptop space especially). I'd personally stick with a Thinkpad were I to get a laptop. I like a little junk in the trunk |
Thinkpads are great. They are a little clunky, and I wish they'd let go of the nipple and the odd buttons above the trackpad (though I'm sure loyal users would crucify them for this), but they are damned reliable workhorses. I've seen and heard horror stories with HP, Dell, Toshiba... but never Lenovo. Whenever somebody looking for a Windows machine asks me, I steer them towards a Thinkpad. Won't save you much money over a Mac, but that's the price of quality.

"The worst part about these reviews is they are [subjective]--and their scores often depend on how drunk you got the media at a Street Fighter event." — Mona Hamilton, Capcom Senior VP of Marketing
