So of those games we have a sequel (New Little King's Story) to a game that sold ~260,000 copies. A game in a franchise in which the last couple of installments have pretty much completely bombed (Silent Hill). Another game in a declining franchise (LittleBigPlanet) in which the last installed sold about half the previous one. Smart As and Soul Sacrifice which to be honest I don't see as million sellers or making any real impact at all. That leaves spinoffs Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation and Call of Duty: Declassification as the big Vita exclusives this year. I'm not sure about AC3 but considering they've shown no gameplay for Declassification or even given a release date should worry some people about the possibility that it could become a rushed ~70-75 Metacritic game. Also the fact that major installments of those franchises are coming to consoles might keep fans of those series there instead of jumping onto Vita. The second half the year is going to be make it or break it for Vita so it'll be interesting to see what happens. |
Actually LittleBigPlanet is one of the biggest Sony franchises, the two PS3 games have strong sales. The second one is newer and didn't have as many bundles as the first, but comes with good weekly sales. Judging for the amount of people online all the time, it doesn't seems to die anytime soon. It's a unique game, one of the most creative of this gen. And we'll got a spin-off this year (LBP Karting).
Besides that, I think that CoD and AC3 are very strong titles. The first one manages to launch a new game each year and sell 25 milion units all the time. It's one of the biggest franchises (or the biggest) right now. AC is on of the biggest franchises this gen too and has a lot of potential. I
