I have enjoyed Kinect Sports and Season 2. But Rare doesn't really mean anything special to me any more in terms of a brand that represents the best in gaming (like it used to).
What has happened to Rare is often blamed on Microsoft, but they should realize that Rare split into 3 during the purchase
- Graphic / art talent stayed as Rare and with Microsoft
- Technical talent left to form Free Radical and made awesome Timesplitters games, and are now Crytek who spend time time making those Crysis games
- Zoonami was the game design talent and I think have yet to release any game since it was formed right around the split
Nintendo getting Rare back wont necessarily make Rare back into what it used to be because so much of what made Rare, well rare... was the mix of talent that existed and worked so well together.
