Those are excellent ideas. Your PS+ idea should be put on the Playstation Blog Share. The DLC for Pacific Rift adds an extra $30 to their bottom line (Trak Paks, 3D rift) so I know why they don't want to do that. I've already requested on the blog site that they give a discount on older DLC like this. I got the Sonic allstars racing DLC for less than 3 dollars so it can be done. One thing to think about is licensing. That game has a ton of licensed songs on the disc. One of the reasons you don't see Loaded(PS1) on the store is due to some music in that game. This could be an issue with Pacific rift. Maybe they haven't put it on PS+ is because of the artist wanting fees for a PSN version of this game. |
Yeah, now I think about it, I guess it should be an either/or kind of thing. Like, promote the DLC as free but continue to sell the game for download, or give the game for free on PS+ but charge for the DLC (which I suspect quite a few people would buy).
I'd never thought about licencing issues though, that may well be something to do with it. Still, even now Motorstorm is beyond being saved, there's a few other older SCE games that could do with being saved. Maybe I will bring it up on the blog share, thanks for the suggestion! :)
