I guess your all not as old as me as my first console was the BBC Grandstand (Pong) followed by the Atari 800XL (with Atari FREDDIE chip) computer with the tape deck (Qiq and Desmond's Dungeon Etc) and it took hours to get a rainbow to go across the screen anybody remember 10 go to line 20, 20 run bla bla bla, then the Atari 2600 (have 3 of them wooodgrain and 2 x black plastic) none will work on my new HD TV still have all the original Star Wars and Donkey Kong etc.

Woooo BASIC. Thats actually what I started programming in (very young mind you, so nothing big deal >_<.) Came standard on the Apple IIs. Then you had QBasic on the old Dos/Windows boxes. Good times...

The Astrocade let you program games in basic!

Seriously.  That was a great system.
