This makes me remember a theory that my religion teacher told me. Apparently. Jesus never actually died at the cross, the fluids given to him while up there made him simulate death. Remember the parts where someone (I don't remember who, but it was some significant person) said "Is he already dead?" It's kind of suspicious, right? His supposed death was then used as a reason to bring him down from the cross before his legs were crushed like with those other guys next to him.

He mentioned lots of other stuff backing up this theory that I can't remember. But the bottom line is that it sounded a lot more plausible than the New Testaments (or more specifically, John's) retelling of this event.
