But Toro is an actual mascot. Even if he isn't popular elsewhere it made complete sense to have him if a character as unrecognizable as Radec could make the cut. Worldwide, even if he is only recognizable in Japan that still means more people probably know him compared to the likes of Sly and Fat Princess. Meaning more people know him as the Playstation mascot than people who know Sly and Fat Princess period. 

I'm okay with Toro being in the game, really I am. I think he'd be a fun and quirky character to play as. My point is (and you kind of made it yourself with mentioning Radec, Sly, and Fat Princess) is that the roster is heavily Western oriented atm. Sure Toro is the mascot, but just in Japan. Even the guys from Superbot during the Q and A section from Comic con barely knew who he was. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve to be in the game, but that it felt like they put him in there just to fit the "minority" lol. They have a TON of great jrpg characters to draw from but we havn't seen any yet. Not saying they won't announce one at all, but like I said Superbot barely knew who Toro was, only knew he was popular in Japan so they put him in. It's almost like an indication that they won't put any other Japanese characters in the game. But maybe i'm just being paranoid.

Also, do you really think more people know who Toro is than Sly? Not being sarcastic I'm really asking ._. I would think Sly would be the more recognizable character. (obviously excluding Japan)
