Kojima cancelled this project because they tried to make it a stealth game and he didn't want a stealth game, he wanted an action game.
Platinum camei n, loooked at the gameplay design they had going, and said "The PS3 absolutely is not capable of rendering this sort of game with the sort of fidelity and speed yo uwant". Kojima agreed.
So it's an action game like originally intended, with the important bits kept and the dumb bits cut out
