But I thought that Activision Blizzard was in a strong position so that investors had strong reason to buy it?
Personally, I think the smartest move would be to sell off IP and studios individually (in some cases, selling them as a unit - Modern Warfare can go with Infinity Ward, for instance). They already shut down most of the less valuable studios, so the ones that remain should be worth quite a bit. MS bought Rare for $375 million - I'd expect that both Treyarch and Infinity Ward would be significantly more valuable than that. EA bought Bioware and Pandemic together for $775 million.
I honestly just can't see investors paying even $8 billion for Activision.
