Pic is sort of wrong.. The drive , I think, consumes half the top part. not a third. 

 

Plus it would be hard to take out the disk if the disk was partly under the chasiss. 

The assumption is that it is a sliding cover over the blu ray disc (sliding sideways).

Ahh yes.. I can see it now. I think the gaf dude made a pretty accurate mock up. Becuase the ps3 logo side is actually higher than the other side. 

I just hope it doesnt screeches when you slide the cover over. But im pretty sure Sony would take care of that. 

Still not sure about the 16gb plan though :-S 

Same here, hopefully the sliding mechanism isn't cheap. I do like your old view of it though, I love when you can see the discs spinning in a device.
