So, the surface and volume of this model is almost identical to the current one, only rectangular instead of a square. I'm guessing it'll be lighter and cheaper, but I would've preferred if it was smaller...

Would be a little surprised if it was the same size O.o; At the same time though I have said before that they would have problems slimming the PS3 down any more. Development on the Cell stopped when the first revision came out so it's still kicking out the same heat, same power draw etc. It still needs a HDD and a disk drive etc. 

Unless the final model is different, looking at the size of the Ethernet port it won't be smaller. Do the maths yourself, you'll see.

I wasn't doubting your math lol. Just saying I would be surprised at Sony if they hadn't bothered to reduce the size at all.
