My general rule with Steam sales is ONLY purchase games under $10. Don't get me wrong, there are an array of wonderful discounts, but I already have such a backlog that I really want to control my purchases. I have my wishlist, and games that go under $10 on that list will get purchased. If they don't, then I will probably pick them up in future sales when they drop in price.
In the past I picked up the following:
Deus Ex: HR - $7.50
LA Noire - $5
Splinter Cell: Conviction - $6.50
Amnesia - $5
Metro 2033 - $5
Dear Esther - $5
STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl: $2.50
Do you not agree that those are utterly reDUNKulous prices?! Steam makes me feel like there is a cute family of bunnies sipping on warm tea in my belly!
