Huh, I didn't know that. We don't learn about subtropical cliate at school, as I said we divide it in Oceanic, Mediterranean and Continental.

I live on the northern coast so outside of subtropical weather anyway.

Well Mediterranean climate is considered sub-tropical, and according to this map the only bit considered "continental" is the little pink blob in the middle of Spain http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Europe_Koppen_Map.png

Most of central and Southern Spain is in the "cold semi-arid" climate.... though sounds a bit odd calling it "cold"
