There is a problem that was talked about on BEYOND3D forums....

The problem is, is PS3 retail games cannot be emulated and this won't become possible for quite some time.

So in order to stream PS3 games, you would need PS3 based servers, that are literally made of PS3's, and it would be 1 PS3 per customer at a time, per game at a time

Is this reasonable or practical?

Similar setups work for existing cloud gaming services. It's profitable as long as they have enough users paying a subscription. Maybe the PS3 games that gamers already have could be free, but PS1/PS2 games would require a subscription, or maybe access to ALL PS3 games would require a subscription, maybe these could be parts of PS+, which would have to increase it's price a little. Gaikai already has great infrastructure, so it's not like Sony would be starting from scratch. Maybe PS3 games would require PS3s, but PS2 and certainly PS1 games could be emulated on PCs, and Gaikai (and now Sony) has plenty of those.

But hey, these are just ideas, not my surefire route to success for Sony.
