I like to think I know more about video games than the average "gamer". But I don't necessarily think that makes me a better person. Rather, I care enough about games to look up information on my own, through sites such as these. Most people I know (some of my friends included) only play what is popular at the moment. If you tell them game X is popular they will love it. If you tell them game Y is unpopular, they will hate it. They have no opinions of their own when it comes to gaming. So when discussing games with them, yes, I have a certain arrogance about me.

But to other enthusiasts such as myself (and everyone here) I don't act arrogant at all, usually i'm eager to see what I can learn from them. Basically I see the "sheep mentality" as a form of laziness, and sometimes I feel a bit more superior because I don't fall into the habit of believing what everyone else does, for the sake of fitting in.
