As much as I agree with the majority of your post, I would have to disagree on this part ^

 

There's plenty amount of software coming out for the PS3, and even more in 2013, and no I'm not talking about first party titles only, I'm talking about third party titles, and yes despite majority of them being niche RPG/Japanese made titles, they do attract people especially when their exclusives such as Ni No Kuni, Tales of Xilia etc.

The big name games such as GTA, Assassin's Creed, etc probably wont but other titles that will eventually peak people's interest will along with a price cut/new model that is being rumored.

I could actually see the PS3 lasting another 2-3 years at least after the release of the Wii-U, although like you said it also depends on how developers make games for the Wii-U, it could go two different ways as well such as what happened with the Wii when it was first released, it was getting a few exclusives but nothing spectacular outside of Nintendo's first party titles in the beginning along with multiplatform ports from the PS2/Xbox in its early years. I can see that happening again with the Wii-U, but maybe this time around far less and more better games.

You also have to bear in mind, a price cut/new model could do wonders for a system considering the fact I'm pretty sure there will be people waiting for either of those happening to buy a PS3, I know I did almost a year ago.


So that's how it's gonna be, eh?  You're on my list!
