Now that I think about it, with this move Sony may have bigger plans for Gaikai than just streaming videogames.

If the infrastructure as it is now can handle hundreds of people playing at the same time, with info going in both directions, why can't they use it also to stream music or movies? Sony music is now the biggest publisher in the world after buying EMI, and they are also big in the movie industry.

Imagine if the users of Gaikai could have access to all that for just a few $/€. Wouldn't you sign in?

Already exists its called Music Unlimited, available now on PS3, PSP, Vita, iOS, OSX, Android and Windows.

Oh, i didn't know that.

Does it also stream movies? Maybe they want to merge it all.

They do have Video Unlimited too but thats not on as many devices, but doesnt make your point meaningless your right they may want to move these services on to the Gaikai infrastructure if its cheaper to run than there current set up. It may also be a more flexible setup allowing for more features.
