For the immediate future, I sure hope not.
I was hearing about Gaikai in the news so I popped onto the site and tried playing some Crysis 2 and the streaming quality was awful. To be clear, it said my connection was great. It was like watching a low res video on YouTube. I saw compression artifacts and the picture was blurry. Even if the streaming quality were better, I bet that I'd still have an issue because it's only playing the game at 720p when my monitor is 1080p so scaling it up to see more would affect it. What also hurt the experience was the delay when trying to control the game. There was a very noticeable delay when trying to look around at the environment.
Don't know how OnLive compares though.
