nah, that's the difference,Apple just doesn't sell it's 5 year old models anymore, while that is pretty standard for consoles

a 2006 macbook costs half of what an Iphone 4 s without contract costs (with contract ofc it can be acquired for as low as 1€/prob. $1, but the monthly costs are enormous)
